Cavaillon Espagnol melon
Origin - A very rare and old melon, that was listed in 1893 in Haage & Schmidt’s catalog in Erfurt, Germany, and also listed by the Vilmorin’s of France earlier in the 1800’s.
Days till harvest - 100 days but usually a bit earlier
Rind - Football-shaped, green fruits. Flesh - delicious light creamy orange flesh with a touch of green. Rich, soft and sweet Fruit weight - 1-2 kg
Ripeness indicator - Starts to turn a little yellow and develop a little netting. Very light fragrance. Does not slip.
My Notes: First year growing this variety. The plants are averaging 2 fruits each.
