Note: These are all open-pollinated, non-restricted varieties. I don't grow them all.
- CA - Cantalupensis group (now includes RE - Reticulatus)(netted melons and true canteloupes)
- IN - Inodorous group (winter melons, honeydews)
- DU - Dudaim group (Mango melons, Queen Anne etc.)
- MO - Mormordica group (phoot and snap melons. The fruit is oval or cylindrical with smooth skin that cracks at maturity)
- CO - Conomon group (Oriental pickling melons)
Note:
- *** - Personally recommended (most melons are good to great but these are exceptional in my opinion)
- # - Good for small gardens or short growing seasons
- G - Melons I am growing or have grown
