Rugosa di Cosenza melon

Rugosa di Cosenza melon

Origin - Italy.

Days to ripen -

Rind - This is a beautiful 'Amarillo Oro' type melon with smooth, bright yellow, ridged skin.   Flesh - sugary-sweet white flesh.   Fruit weight - 1 kg.

Ripeness indicator - Turns yellow. Slight softening of the flower end. Does not slip.

Notes: I have grown these for a few years. They are tough vines and fruit well. Keep well on the vine and off. Fruit sets quickly but takes a long time to ripen.

Harvest - My plants did not grow well at all this year and one plant produced no fruit. The other two only gave one fruit each. In a normal year you would expect 3-4 fruits each.

These seeds are from melons that have been bee pollinated in my breeding patch so may not be 'true', but then again, may be. Could be crossed with anything. These F1 seeds are great for breeding your own varieites or just for 'surprises'.
